BackVoice over IP Installation
Typical Customer Scenario We are considering moving from our standard analogue phone system onto a VOIP one. We already have ADSL. We run a telesales office of 8 people (+3 Support + 2 Fax). We are also looking to open a Northern telemarketing office which will house around 5 people (+ 1 fax + ADSL). Can you recommend a system that will give us the level of service we need as the sales office? Ideally we would like to be able to have some sort of call logging system so we can measure individual performance and phone usage etc. Please let us know what you would suggest. Solution In this set-up there are no phone lines at the remote office - just the one analogue line down which the ADSL goes (and which can be used for emergencies). At the main office a multi-FXO port gateway is connected to analogue extensions on the office telephone PBX (one extension port per FXO port on the gateway). At the remote office normal analogue phones are connected to FXS ports on another gateway. Bridging the two sites is an IP network carried over the Internet (using ADSL). The gateways at each end are programmed so that they automatically connect to each other when either one of the FXO extensions is called from the main office or when one of the phones is taken off hook at the remote office. In this way the remote office phones appear as if they are normal, analogue extensions off the main office PBX system. Any call logging etc... can be done by your main office PBX system. |
